Exciting Spring Events!
ALERT: CAMPING MOVED DUE TO WEATHER THREAT - New date May 18-20th
The weekend of May 18th will be the Spring pack camping trip. Mark your calendars, we'll be going to Ochlockonee! Here's a link to more information about the park:

The Blue and Gold Banquet will be May 1st at 6pm in the Hawks Rise Cafeteria. Please note the earlier time!
Pack 40 dens are busy with preparations for the annual Blue and Gold Banquet, which will be held in the Hawks Rise Elementary cafeteria from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. This family event culminates a year of scouting and celebrates the many friends and accomplishments made by our scouts throughout the year.
We are looking forward to a memorable evening. Our Blue and Gold Chairperson, Lisa Luciani has organized the various tasks involved with this banquet. Each den is assigned a specific set up task to help with Blue and Gold Banquet preparations and families are encouraged to help. The tasks are relatively small and can be done in one afternoon, but together, they provide all that is needed for the banquet. This is a Potluck Banquet that everyone gets involved in. Your den leaders should have already passed the “plate” with sign-up sheets of food categories. As a reminder, please bring a serving utensil for your covered dish.
We also need volunteers from each den to arrive at 5:45 to help set up with set-up.
We have a special line-up of presentations. We will begin the year with a photo presentation followed by den skits and recognitions. If you have photos to include in the photo presentation, please email them to Lou Norvell at

This is the last Pack event of the school year. We’re looking forward to a happy and memorable evening.

Congratulations to all boys! Pack 40 was the highest selling unit in the entire council!!!! Thank you to everyone who participated. All awards will be given out at the January pack meeting. Because of the great sales, Pack 40 will be able to have so many fun activities this spring. Also, our sales contributed over $5000 to our council, which helps to support Wallwood, and all the other scouting activities put on by the council. Incredible job by all boys! Sign up for scouting will take place at the Cub Scout Roundup coming this August 30 at 6:30 in the HRES Cafeteria. You'll hear announcements in your classroom about this. This is a great chance to meet your den leader! Additional info for new scouts: For your first Den meeting please visit the Scout shop on Thomasville Road. Purchase the DEN hand book and bring it to every Den meeting. If you are purchasing clothes we encourage the blue shirt, council patch, neckerchief, den slide and Pack 40 number only. The council shop is excellent at helping you select these- you do not need this list-they will help you. REMEMBER the hat, pants, socks are all optional. Additionally, we have some used shirts available for families who may need assistance- ask your den leader. In addition to Den activities we have Pack Activities-All scouts participate in these monthly meeting. The Pack meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at HRES cafeteria from 6:30-7:30.
